by Brian

One of my favorite gifts for my closest friends and relatives is to find a street sign that contains their name, take a photo, and frame it! Everyone LOVES this as a gift! If you need a gift, let us know - Allie and I would love to make one for you!

Eric Hirshberg turns 40 09.29.

by Brian

***   If you a good, I’ll show you a picture of Cameron Diaz, but you must read first   ***

Eric Hirshberg, President of Deutsch Advertising, and his family and friends celebrated Eric’s 40th birthday at their recently remodeled home in Santa Monica - which is BEAUTIFUL! Eric’s wife is an art dealer, and there was so much impeccable beauty on the walls and in attendance.  This was truly a night to remember - I was honored to photograph the evening for the Hirshberg’s.

I have become a huge fan off multiple off-camera strobe’s. This picture illustrates the effect:

As you can see, Eric is a huge Talking Heads fan. He had words from the song, Once in a Lifetime, projected onto the walls on the exterior of the house. Here is another shot with the words, “You may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife…” An excellent location for their portrait…

Here are a couple shots of the interior, like I said: impeccable. I wonder if they need a roommate (well, roommates - we are a family after all)

This is one of my favorite all-time photos. I don’t know why, maybe is is how the composition is split right down the middle. I love the way she is looking out into space, maybe thinking, “How did I get here?”

The food, again, impeccable, prepared by David Sanfield and Kim Vu of Edison and Pitfire fame:

Finally, at the end of the evening, I found a photo of Eric as a youngster that his father had blown-up and mounted on cardboard. I started walking around the party, asking people to pose with it. Please note that the following pictures are more of the tamer ones… And yes, that’s Cameron below…

Sara and Ramin - Engagement 09.23.

by Brian

Sara and Ramin were referred to us by Cassandra Krause-my good friend through LA’s BEST Friends and wedding client of Allie and Bri Photography. We met them for an initial consultation at Pete’s Cafe in downtown LA, and were instantly struck by the overwhelming and apparent love these two have for each other. It is seriously contagious, and before we knew it, Allie and I were holding each other, unknowingly succombing to PDAs.

Ramin spent his childhood hanging out around Olivera Street, so we decided to meet there. These pictures were actually shot where Olivera Street meets the beginning of Little Tokyo… It was less crowded and more comfortable - a perfect spot to let Sara and Ramin be themselves, and for Allie and I to take their pictures…

Misha and Kevin - Maternity 09.19.

by Brian

I met Misha when I was in the throes of a Borat speech addiction, which incidently lasted for four years. To this day, Misha and I still talk to each other witha subdued Russian-Romanian enhanced chopped and hacked-up version of elementary English.

“hallo friends. i like”

“for too, i like you, for much nicings i think you mean. i feelings much heart bump for me to you”

You get the picture… Speaking of pictures, check out the images below - our favorites from their maternity session.

From Allie, “Michelle not only looked beautiful, but had such a calm about her! She trusted us completely and was willing to completely show off her gorgeous preggo body to get the shot…pretty brave, and the results are amazing!”

Let us know what you think.

Michelle and David - engagement photos 09.16.

by Allie

When was the moment that Bri and I realized that Michelle and David are awesome? Perhaps it was watching the beer relay races at their family reunion? Or was it when we met them at their house to talk photos and Brian bumped into the foos-ball table, aka the dining room table, and almost knocked over the roulette-whiskey-shot dispenser? Was it when we found out about their appearance on Design on a Dime?

Or was it the first moment we met them and saw how perfect they compliment and complete each other.

When he starts a sentence, she finishes it.
When she sips on a beer, he’s already chugging.
When he laughs, she’s giggling.

She is absolutely beautiful and sweet, and he is genuinely handsome, funny and approachable.

Michelle and David seemed to have found the secret: from what I can tell humor and an easy-going attitude toward life are the major ingredients. Every time we see them, we seem to learn a little more about ourselves, and you can’t say that about just anyone…

Stay tuned for their wedding highlights from their wedding at Vibiana. On the down-low: the Budweiser Beer Truck may make an appearance. There is no doubt that this is going to be one for the books!

The following pictures are some highlights from their recent engagement session at the Santa Monica Promenade.

Allie’s Old Modeling Pictures 08.10.

by Brian

In regards to our Allie and Bri website, Allie and I think it is very important to include a lot of stuff about ourselves so that potential clients and friends will be able to get a feel of who we are and what we are all about. So, Allie asked me to make a gallery of all of her old modeling pictures. For anyone who doesn’t know us, Allie was a model for Loreal and Vogue and lived in Paris (starting at age 14), New York, Los Angeles and Quebec. Allie’s high-fashion modeling experience is a major factor that seperates Allie and Bri Photography from the competition. These pictures are absolutely beautiful, and so is Allie! Petal Heads 08.01.

by Allie

While browsing on MySpace the other day, I came across this person who was selling the cutest headbands. They’re called Petal Heads, and I fell in love with them at first sight. And they are only $6.00 a piece, with $1.50 shipping, so I had to give them a shot:

I bought two, here is the green Petal Head:

There are some funny baby pictures on the Petal Head MySpace page - so check it out.
